This past weekend my friend Benji Robinson visited and we spent some time recording a number of drum tracks for Dunvint. There is no web home for Dunvint yet, so I keep pointing links to the entry on the Pseudobook Music Blog which can be found here. That’s our demo song of our (not avant garde, but very fun) mixture of rock and roll with sampling. I’m a melody man, so I prefer to anchor my songs with lyrics and in some sense center-of-attention vocals, but I think we’ve got some very nice songs up our sleeves.
Benji is very, very good at drums and has been exercising his click-track playing. I dream of someday performing this music live and doing it justice. Until then, we have some work to do learning best how to mix computers and live sounds.
